LYRICS

LILA
You're in the middle of a thousand lies,
Their eyes are locked upon your dirty smile,
They turn to look and you are gone,
It might just be that there's something wrong.
Lila, can't you see?
It's not enough to pine away for me.
Lila, Lila with the wind,
Lila, its more subtle than it seems.

And now it's time to make my way,
There's nothing left for me to say,
Another rhyme, another failure too,
At the end nothing to lose.
Lila, can't you see?
It's not enough to pine away for me.
Lila, Lila with the wind,
Lila, its more subtle than it seems.

CONCERTS
One day I will wake up feeling inspired and create a feed here with much information on upcoming concerts which you may or may not find interesting. For now we must wait and hope that there will be no shows or concerts so that we do not forget to put them on this page.
David Loris is a composer, singer, songwriter, and guitarist whose versatility extends from string quartets to pop songs to theatre scores. Drawing inspiration from folk, pop, electronic and classical music, as well as beat poetry and the visual arts, he experiments with offbeat lyrics and sounds that challenge the listener's assumptions about dreams and 21st century realities.
ABOUT DAVID
David charted an unconventional path to a career in music. Following a childhood in Egypt and Italy and a talent for music and mathematics, California-born David attended Brown University in the US and Bocconi University in Milan. Armed with a degree in Economics and a Masters in Corporate Finance, he dove into a career in finance, but quickly became disillusioned. He soon decided that his future was in music and returned to Rome to study film composition.
Fascinated by a wide variety of genres, he turned his skills to composing for orchestra and songwriting, exploring the influences he experienced in his studies and in his time living on three continents. David believes fervently in the power of abstraction to combine pop and classical music, exalting in jarring dissonances while finding refuge in beautiful, soaring melodies.
After a stint of writing instrumental scores for independent theatre productions in Milan and composing for Italian TV, David turned his attentions to writing songs and began releasing material in 2010. His first song, "Anywhere We Want To" was included in the soundtrack of "Tutto l'Amore del Mondo" and featured in the Official Coldplay Exhibition room. On July 15th his debut album, "Floating Away", was released and is steadily climbing the online charts. The latter half of the year will see the release of the highly anticipated single "Lila".

NEWS

They say no news is good news (whos they?). In this case there is then only bad news. So click "more news" to find out all the bad news is - which I think may actually be good news. But this is confusing. Who came up with that anyway?
In summary, an album was released, a single was released, some more albums and singles and videos will be released which many people will enjoy and play on their headphones, or their smart phones or on boring old loud speakers. And when the concert page is finally updated we will also be able to play some concerts with the new band "David Loris & Co." With this band we will play all new songs never played to the world except to about ten people here in Rome and one in Geneva and one in Los Angeles.
There will also be a track that is sold and the proceeds go to the enviroment in order to offset some of my carbon emmissions - or yours because it is not your fault if you listen to music and create CO2...
